Roles and permissions
Two different things decide what a team member does: their portal role (what they can manage on screen) and their role on board (what they do on a trip). Keeping them separate means your dive guide isn't forced to be an account admin just to be rostered.
Portal roles
- Owner — full control of the account, including billing and closing it. There's one owner; ownership can be handed over (see Transfer ownership).
- Admin — manages centers, offerings, bookings, clients and most team members.
- Manager — works within the centers they're assigned to; sees the clients and activities that pass through those centers.
Permissions are deliberately fine-grained: an owner can act on anyone, an admin can manage non-owners, and a manager is scoped to their centers.
Role on board
Separately, a member can have a role on board — instructor, divemaster, captain, boat crew — which is what shows when you assign them to an activity and on the departure sheet. Someone can have a role on board and no portal access at all.
Assigning centers
Each member is attached to one or more centers. A manager only sees data for their centers; an owner or admin sees everything.
